Completly 110% hopkins fault. Not even a shadow of a doubt or any room whatsover to blame Jones unless you are hopkins or his mother I don't see how you can argue otherwise.

60/40 would have netted Bhop over 6 million, more than twice his highest purse at the time and 6 times what he earned in the fight that he had just finished fighting when this argument took place. He turned that down to fight to fight for 1.2 million against Moradde Hakker and didn't even come close to making that kind of money again until he hit the boxing lotto by getting a fight with DLH. He though that beating a draw made him a draw and even though he clearly wasn't. Roy on the other hand consistently made real money and continued to do so even after these negotiations broke down.

He didn't bring anything to the table. THe fight would have been at a catchweight above 160 meaning that none of bernard's titles could be on the line but all of Roy's could be.

He already had a loss to Roy and this was his chance at redemption. Someone offers you a chance to make twice what you had ever made and 6 times what you were currently making to redeem your only meaningfull loss and you turn it down even though you have no other lucrative offers or prospects? Who the hell does that?

60/40 for Jones was fair at that time.

Hopkins' only became popular when he beat Tito. Before that, he was just another MW belt holder.

Jones on the other hand was P4P #1 and had beaten many good fighters including Toney and Hopkins himself.

Hopkins was just being his usual ***** self and demanded 50/50.

So do not believe allthese crap about Hopkins being unfortunate that all those many good fighters from 160 to 175 during the entire 90s avioded him. Hopkins was either not interested in fighting them himself or was too difficult to negotiate with.

Dont let this Mayweather caving to give manny 50/50 **** full you

The man to beat is the one that almost always got 60%

60 40 was common practice until our dumbasses got involved in the negotiations now they read our blogs and feel like they aint gotta fight for less then 50 50
