GGG finished Lem in six but Lem hardly touched Saunders so which was the better display?

It was the 8th GGG stopped him in. Got to go with the stoppage win really, especially how GGG used the jab on him regularly. Saunders was very impressive though, its just Lemieux couldn't carry on v G, which for me is more impressive !

BJS was more a boxing lesson. 3G was a beating...
BJ might have retired him, though

Both did great, both barely ever got hit by lem, but ggg did it on the front foot and got the stoppage so gotta go with GGG.

Saunders exposed Lemieux slow feet and handspeed with movement. Lemieux was hitting air all night, it must be a frustrating night for him.
GGG was in front of leumiux dishing steep jab, body shot and power punches while blocking what leumiux dished out. It's less frustrating but a lot of pain.
Both GGG and Saunders played within their own strength. Both fights are pretty conclusive. I can't say which one is better. I would say lemiuex has been outfought and outbox by better fighters in both.

He's also been outsmarted and KTFO by Rubio, and outboxed by Alcine.

True, I was just about to post on the other thread how punchers are usually overrated.

Yeah - not like he's improved and gained experience since those fights and wouldn't have won rematches.

Yeah boy, Rubio really outsmarted him, he laid on the ropes and got the **** beaten out of him for 6 rounds straight, and then rabbit punched David behind the ear when he was gassed. Excellent strategy. And I wouldn't call a corner stoppage a KTFO.

GGG did it like a man , he did not need 12rds to finish him, also the fight was more interesting to watch. Yesterday was a borefest.

GGG did what he does well, BJS did what he does well. But if we're basing this on pure boxing Saunders did slightly better than GGG.

the only diffrence was the refs, Idont think most refs would have stopped GGG vs Lemieux at the time it was stopped. It was a you wont win anyways stoppage not a "this is dangerous you are badly hurt stoppage" also the ref in ggg missed a really late punch and counted it towards a knockdown it was very late too. griffen the ref of the saunders fight would say "time" and put them in corners and say "that was a knockdown" to the judges
then give David time to recover from the illegal shot. GGG was using a game plan that wasn't what he regularlly does even if it did work well. Saunders did a version of his gameplan on steroids.

Also billy joe had a cold and the deck stacked against him and was the B-side if that was the fight in montreal... if it was in England I think Saunders won by KO.

I know the mod intentional butt is trying to down play this win but I think this is a massive win for saunders.

I picked Saunders by win but had no idea the scores though Lemieux would win early then be out boxed. stamina issue didnt matter to me as Lemieux has bad stamina though neithers stamina paid into question here. but after 4 rounds lemieux punches arent one shot knockout punches the fight was fully over for me after 4.
