Lemieux made so many mistakes though and im not taking away from saunders there are also advantages to fighting south paws yet he complained about his left hand.. use your right circle the other way. when he goes to tie up PUNCH first get one hand free and punch. He's done in title fights unless he changes weights to a weaker 168.

Yep, both were a class above Lemieux and it's hard / pointless to try to pick between them based on that one fight.

If there have been improvements they haven't been enough to be a top fighter.

Agreed. Stopping a man has to outweigh it though in general

Oh ****! Lol you clearly haven't seen the fight then. I just recently rewatched it.

Rubio showed good defense for being an older slower fighter, yes the younger fresher fighter looked more explosive, but he wasn't tagging Rubio nearly enough. FFS Rubio doesn't have the hardest whiskers and you're trying to tell me power punching Rubio had his way with him? GTFO

I'll give Rubio the first 5 rounds, but by the end of the 6th round Lemieux had gotten completely figured out and on the 7th he got beaten to a ****ing pulp. His corner had no choice but to stop it or risk serious injury. Hence getting KTFO.

I suggest you watch it before commenting on it.

I guess it's bragging rights for the armchair fans of each fighter lol.

Mother****er I've seen it 3 times... I suggest you watch it again, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Lemieux won the first five rounds walking away, the 6th was competitive and David was gassed by the 7th, and clearly got tagged to the side of the back of his head behind his left ear, his equilibrium was off, he didn't even fully go down, but he would have, then Rubio jumped on him after the KD, and his corner waved it off probably too soon, but he was falling apart.

Rubio soaked up the punishment, a lot of it, didn't get KO'd early, then when David gassed, he took over, what about what I wrote is wrong?

What are you talking about? Rubio has incredible whiskers, you don't go 10 rounds with Pavlik and 12 with Chavez Jr. in a war if you have bad whiskers.

Here everyone, watch the match yourselves.

GGG gave Lem a beating, BJS gave him a boxing lesson. Both used exquisite jabs as their main weapons. Which is better depends on your preference really.

GGG beat down Lemoo viciously, BJS slapped him into Rigo territory. I really don't know which is worse.

I assume the question was asked to consider what the outcome would be with a GGG-Saunders match-up. Unlike Lemieux, GGG would cut off the ring and not give Saunders any room to run. Saunders ran and ran and ran last night and Lemieux wasn't smart enough to either cut off the ring or stay in his face. He gave Saunders plenty of room to do whatever he wanted to do.

A good ref also would have warned Saunders about holding every time they got in tight, as well.

GGG knocked out Lemieux but Saunders humiliated him for 12 rounds. However, the Lemieux that showed up last night wasn't as fit and well trained as the one that showed up to fight GGG.

It all depends on what kind of fight you are in the mood for at the time. I liked this fight because i didn't mind watching BJS using the ring and making Lemux miss using good and classy footwork. He could of stuck around and offloaded a bit more but he won the easy way at the end of the day,

GGG's fight was a game of two halves. GGG boxed him at range and made himself a hard target for 3-4 rounds and won every round. Then he upped his game and stuck around to dish out the pain after he had broken Lemuxs confidence.

If I was to pick one that i would have to watch again- it would be the GGG fight.

Lemux is B level good fighter, and that doesn't mean he cant improve, it just means thats where he is at right now.

What I was going to say.

Damage is a part of boxing. Golovkin can not only box, but he has the heavy artillery to go with the skills. I'll take the stoppage win over the better version, as better.

There is no comparison!!! Golovkin easily out boxed, jabbed Lemieux and constantly hurt him, knocking him down and finally out!!! Saunders ran, boxed, but could not hurt Lemieux at all, never came near knocking him out. Golovkin would cut off the fight and hurt Saunders badly!!!
