Who was better, Calzaghe when he fought Eubank or the one that fought Hopkins???

Like Calzaghe "crushed", a past it weight drain cruiser weight, in Eubank. Who took the fight at short notice and lost god knows how many pounds in so few days. From what I have read other boxing boards wouldn't have made the fight legal. This is the same Eubank who lost 5 of his last 9 as well; one of those to Joe.

Despite all this, this Eubank gave what Joe says was his hardest fight ever!

Eubank is one of my favourite ever boxers, I liked him when he was really unpopular. Having said this on a world stage he never proved it by fighting anyone of note, outside the UK, and hes no Hopkins.

Calzaghe never "crushes" Hopkins.

Personaly I think Joe is a better boxer now then he was back then; where he was a bit green, when he started fighting.

 

Seen nearly all of his fights ... Joe was never heavy handed (though he has decent sized forearms to wrist) ... it is his technique that is average .. doesn't throw straight punches ... and has never had great upper body strength ... if he hit the weights some he wouldn't be able to make SMW ... that's the trade-off ... don't know why people want to make him out into something he never was ... good fighter ... never a physical threat in terms of punching power .. it is one of his weakest aspects ... his strengths are elsewhere.

 

Not going to argue the point. People can watch and decipher for themselves. I never said he was heavy handed, something I reserve for fighters with great power or one punch KO power. I said he had very good power before his hand injuries.

 

I am surprised to see you admit to calzaghe having strengths at all.

 

Actually one of many favorite fighters until I read ESB and saw the ridiculous nut-huggers posting bs.

And, the same fools knocking RJJ, Mayweather, Hopkins, Taylor, Miranda, etc., etc.
