Roy certainly wasn`t as good as Whitaker, at least not the pre Vasquez version of Whitaker. He was faster, more powerful & had an edge in pure athleticism but the overall boxing skills were in Pea`s favour, no doubt.

 

Whitaker doesn't leave much to detract from.

 

Clearly Roy, such a shame he didnt prove his greatness against the best like Holy did.

 

Mo will always find a way to get Holyfield in the conversation, even if we turn the other way.

This thread feels a bit like the "greatest fighter of the last 25 years" thread. I noticed Whitaker's name pop up so Holy clearly deserves a mention.

My point stands though, Roy was superman & couldve done a lot more with the gifts God gave him. Shouldve made more music too

 

Whitaker's name will always pop up. I'll make sure of that, so there'll be more opportunities to slide Holyfield into the conversation. Look at this corny tribute... Yet, its awesome.

You certainly have no idea how good Roy was, then. Nobody could hang with Roy. The same wasn't true for Whitaker, as good as he was.
