People are also forgetting what Foreman did to a prime Frazier-- a fighter similar to Tyson.

It may shock ya, but I think if not for Ali, Foreman could have been champ for 25 years--all the way up to Tyson!

And they say young Mike was afraid to fight old FOreman during the comeback.

    /thread!

George didn't have a complete defense. He had a great chin, deadly accuracy, and concussive power. Tyson was a more complete fighter, in my opinion, but I'd pick prime George to beat more ATG's than prime Tyson. (including Tyson)

I would say Tyson was better skilled.

Foreman was in a different era and maybe fought a better skilled bunch of guys, but his Boxing was a bit raw in his youth. His power coupled with decent stamina was too much for most guys. He definitely applied more skill upon his return.

Who would beat who is open for debate. I think Forman had what it took to take prime Tyson as evidenced by Frazier. But at the same time Frazier did not have the speed or movement of Tyson.

    Foreman was.

    He would KO Tyson.

  8. George Foreman had almost 50 fights in his prime and got tired in 2. He had decent stamina. The myth of George Foreman's stamina problems must go away because they are not true. Another thing,Tyson did not hit anywhere near as hard as Foreman. Tyson hit fast and accurate and overwhelmed people with combinations. Foreman hit a guy with a few awkward glancing blows and they fell right over. Foreman didn't have to be a good boxer or an especially accurate puncher to KO a guy. Also,Foreman had to face guys like Frazier and Norton and Tyson faced Berbick and Spinks! Do the math my friend. Tyson was no George Foreman. And by the way,Ali wouldn't use the rope a dope against Tyson. Ali would still beat Mike though. How hard would it be for Ali to get inside of a young angry Tyson's head? Ali would make fun of his voice, his height, his hairstyle, his teeth etc. Ali would have Tyson beaten before the fight begun. Ali would lay down a similar beating that Holyfield gave Tyson. If you survive the first 5 rounds against Mike, you have a good chance of not getting KO'd.

Yeah, Tyson is basically a slower, less skilled, less durable Ron Lyle. Foreman would have no trouble walking over him, I'm sure.

Are you planning on completing this sentence sometime or are we supposed to guess the rest of your thought?

not saying mike can hit as hard but "not anywhere near" is a bad call.

This is pretty good and is part of why I wrote, if not for ALi, FOreman might have been champ for 25 years, and young Mike was afraid to fight old FOreman.

The one thing I would disagree with is your ALi would do to Mike what Holyfield did. I think to avoid danger, 67 Ali would stay away and dance and stick. And not risk danger. ALi would not have to do what Holy did, because only ALi could dance around like that. But only if Mike tired and the kill was there would ALi risk it.

And u r right about the great FOreman power. I think vs Frazier, several of the times Joe went down were from glancing blows. You could hardly believe they could do that.

So many people begged Ali not to fight Foreman after what he did to just about everyone he fought.

    Youngins don't know Prime George.

Actually I think if the 2 met. George would have Mike shaking before they started.

And prime or best George ended in ZAire.
George was never the same again, and neither was the paralyzing fear that gripped his opponents, as they saw that he could be KOed.

The "god" was mortal and bled.
