i think foreman is tailor made for tyson. big slow power shots and next to no defence smells like a ko to me.

In my opinion, Tyson > Foreman, but Tyson < Ali

Then came back and won the title 17 years later whereas Tyson got KOed in any significant fight he had

u said mental strength in the face of adversity..... he ran and hid for 17 yrs on the other hand it was tyson against the world. he made mistakes gets no favours and keeps coming back.

im being a bit harsh because wat foreman has done and gone through is equally commendable.

foremans return was hardly breath taking.
tyson was up against too much to be a force for ever.

Actually Foreman ducked Tyson not once, not twice but 3 times.

So um....That's your answer right there.
And fortunately for me I have facts on my side whereas you have a hack writer named Frank Lotierzo who hates Mike Tyson and make a up a story.

    Any significant fight?

    vs. Berbick
    vs. Tucker
    vs. Spinks
    vs. Holyfield 2
    vs. Lewis

Douglas & Holyfield I were only significant because Tyson lost. Otherwise it would be business as usual.

    He actually did Ko Holmes.

Have you seen the bonecrusher fight?? If you have, you probably noticed he didn't fight that fight anywhere like he fought Holmes. He fought Tyson in pure fear, barely through any punches, and held relentlessly throughout the fight. He fought to go the distance not win. He knew if he fought to win, he would be there only a short time..

We are talking prime, not years they were "contenders". I would be hesitant to call his second career his prime, with losses to Shannon Briggs, Tommy Morrison, Holyfield, and a should have been loss to to Schulz..

Your point is valid, but not relevant to the question of the thread.

Well if you think Tyson was in his prime for this fight you are INSANE!! Don King and all those ****ing yes men around him destroyed Tyson before he even steped into the ring that night..And Tyson still almost ko'd his ass!!! Dougles fought the fight of his LIFE that night and he needed every ounce of it even against an UNPRIME Tyson!!!! He would have destroyed Douglas otherwise!! Tyson was unstoppable in his prime..PERIOD!!! Why do you think the HW divison is so boring right now?? Becaues Tyson set the bar so ****ing high that no one can even come close to the excitment and brutality that he brought to the ring!!! Lewis... klitschko's = boring as ****!!!

He got tired in five fights - Ali, Lyle, Young (who actually knocked him down because of it!), and the two Peralta fights - and all five of them just so happened to be five of the eight fights he was in during his first career that went longer than four rounds.

In other words, he showed stamina problems in over half of the fights he didn't end in four rounds.

Tyson has rarely shown any degree of stamina problems during his first career, having gone strong for 12 rounds for the few decisions he won and dominated.

Foreman has NEVER KO'ed a world class fighter after the 5th round.
Until the very end of his career, Tyson had never been KO'ed before the 10th round, not even his corpse against a prime Lennox Lewis.

In a fast paced fight, Tyson would wear out Foreman, similar to Lyle, except Tyson punches MUCH harder than Lyle, with better combinations, better accuracy, better killer instinct and with a better chin.

Tyson would have the ability to stop Foreman within 5-7 rounds, or to win a lopsided decision against him. I personally think Tyson had the potential to stop Foreman even sooner than that. Foreman. Both Lyle and Ali hurt Foreman early.

Foreman's ONLY shot would be a one punch early stoppage against a fighter who never showed any potential to be stopped early on a one punch KO.

Tyson is the most overrated fighter of all time. He fought jokes for the most part and lost to a mediocre fighter and then became a joke.

Foreman would beat tyson then and now and always and has the more impressive record and history. No comparison.

wouldn't call Buster Douglas mediocre. far from it. fantastic skills for a heavyweight
