problem with Douglas was that he was "black while winning".

George in his prime was even more of a machine than Tyson IMO . It's very close though! Big fan of both fighters.

Keep in mind when Foreman lost to Ali in '74 he was 40-0 with 37 knockouts. He had just beaten Joe Frazier with ease (who had beaten Ali) and had beaten Ken Norton with ease (who had beaten Ali). I think realisticly he figured it would be a walk in the park for him.

I agree with this, its amazing that people feared foreman so much they were scared for the great Ali's health

    Cool bro.
Most people here tend to be on the younger side and prob think of old George.

Think on this: wasn't FOreman like 5 years older than Tyson is now when he regained the HW title?

Pre Ali-Foreman prob would have done a Frazier on Tyson. ANd again they say prime Mike was afraid to fight old George.

Who did Tyson beat before Douglas? No ATGs in their prime. George destroyed Frazier and Norton, stopped Chuvalo. Next time Tyson faced someone near great--Holyfield, we saw what happened. Ancient George gave a much better account vs Holy than did prime Mike!

    George Foreman

Wepner, Chuvalo, Peralta X 2, TKO 2 Frazier, TKO 2 Norton
Prime goes until his loss to ATG and arguable GOAT Ali.
    * Foreman TKO 2 Frazier is one of the best wins in heavyweight history.

    compared to Mike Tyson:

Berbick, Thomas, TKO 4 Holmes, KO 1 Spinks, Bruno
Prime goes until his loss to 29-4 Buster Douglas.

Young Foreman would crush any version of Tyson head to head.

as much as i like foreman, hes a vastly over rated fighter! other than fraizer, who some say wasnt in his prime, and ken norton who got knocked out by every big puncher he faced, who else did he beat? he was effective, but slow and clumsy as hell, had no defence. imo he got by with a huge punch and a great chin. to me that not enough to keep a prime tyson away.

Alright fair enough maybe significant was the wring word. If you think of Tyson, you don't think about him koing spinks tucker or berbick. You think about him getting KTFO by Douglas, Holyfield and Lewis

Great post man. I've been saying big George from the start but my boxing knowledge isn't quite up to the standards of some EBSers. Couldn't put my thoughts into words but you've basically done it for me:good

fat, slow, no power, no stamina. Fail to see how he was tailor made for Tyson :p.

But your right. Tyson has not got one great win under his belt.

Foremanns top 3 wins in his prime: Frazier x2 and Norton.
Tysons don't even compare to one of those wins let alone all 3
