Who was better? James Toney or Mike Mccallum

    No question who was the more disciplined athlete.However that is not the subject matter of the thread.I can’t see an argument for Mc Callum being ahead of Toney in the all time rankings.That is because Mc Callum lost to Toney and because what Toney has done at the higher weight.

    Just checked up at boxrec.In 91 Mc Callum avenged his only loss against Kalambay and then fought Toney later that year.While Mike was not prime, he still was very good.

    Well no,Toney’s prime was at super middleweight.And then Mc Callum may not have been prime but he was close to it.He avenged his only loss in Kalambay in 91.That was the same year he fought Toney.

    True but in my opinion Toney was a more complete fighter at super middle.He looked best against Barkley and Littles.
