Lennox isn't the greatest fighter since Ali. Steward himself said Wlad hit harder and was more naturally talented. Lewis ducked the Vitali rematch Lewis ducked the Mercer rematch How did Wlad go AWOL when Lewis bottled the rematch? Without Manny it's arguable that Lewis could have disappeared into obscurity.
Wlad was more dominant in a era that was just as good as the overrated 90's. Wlad imo was the better boxer however Lewis had that natural fighters instinct which whilst Wlad wasn't a bottle job I think it's a 60/40 fight on favour of Lewis. It's not an easy fight for either fighter.
Peter's was arguably better than Tua who himself lost all the major fights. You keep talking about Peter.....how did Tua do against Byrd?
So we disagree.. I believe Lennox was the best since Ali He overlooked both McCall & Rahman & paid the price. Heck he wasn't training for Rahman he was partying with Clooney & Pitt LOL He made Rahman pay in the rematch tho didn't he Watch the TKO 6 fight at the stoppage Vitali was protesting Wlad was hiding behind him LOL Wlad never once challenged Lennox. If he had maybe Lennox wouldn't have retired when he did. After all he'd beaten Vitali when basically only 80 % in shape Ike Ibeacuchi was otherwise engaged & unavailable. There was no one elseto grab Lennox interest Lennox is a Happily married, Healthy, Wealthy Champion enjoying a Well Earned Well Deserved Retirement God Bless Champ !! Thanks for the Memories
Lewis is a clear choice to me. Better footwork, better jab, better combination punching, better resume, avenged his losses, and far less grappling. Keep in mind part of Wlad's longevity was due to being able to split the division up with his brother. They definitely fought guys who were the best fit for them. Lewis didn't have that luxury, he was the clear top dog.
1. There was no lucky punch....There was no overlooking an opponent. 2. He was in training for Rahman, just because he goes to one ocean's 11 premier does not negate the rest of his camp. 3. Ibeabuchi was a sex pest and pure speculation on what he may have achieved. 4. Wlad wasn't hiding, if anything it was Vitali who was aggressive, Lewis had to get his toy town tough guy "minders" in and Wlad was defusing the situation. So how did he go AWOL? 5. Lewis didn't fancy the rematch as he had feasted on C level opposition since Holyfield.....Vitali was his first legit opponent.
If Wladimir vs Joshua had ended on a bad cut... something tells me Wlad wouldn’t have ran into retirement after agreeing to a rematch. Just sayin..
Name me one other World Champion that put his title on the line on 10 days notice?? There ISNT ONE!!!!!! Lennox was set for a warm up against Kirk Johnson who we knew was not seriously training. His heart was broken by the conspiracy of John Ruiz & Joe Cortez who worked together to deny Kirk the WBA title/ Ruiz acting deserved an Oscar. Oh & BTW the Kirk Johnson I knew in Dallas pre the Ruiz debacle, would have given Vitali all he wanted & more. As it was he fought Vitali for the paycheck his career over
Johnson was horrendous against Ruiz and rightly was disqualified. Kirk Johnson bottled against John Ruiz, he would never have troubled either Klitschko.
