Who Was Better Mike Tyson or Jack Dempsey?

Hard to say, they reigned in two eras very far apart, things were a lot different in the 20's compared to 60 years later.
Tyson had more talent, and physical ability, Dempsey had more balls, and toughness...

 

Prime for prime Tyson would have beat Dempsey, but Dempsey is remembered for having the better career.

What great fighters did tyson beat? The two best he fought beat him, Lewis and holyfield.

 

Holmes and Spinks. Granted Holmes was past his best, but Spinks was still a good fighter, Tyson destroyed both of them. I like the past fighters too, but to think that they would beat everyone is bull****. Tyson ****s the majority of them up regardless of what rose tinted glasses show you.

I don't disagree with you. I just think tyson gets overrated sometimes. He never beat a great fighter. Its his fighting style and personality that make him a great

 

He does get overrated, bur I still think that he would beat Dempsey, though I think it would be a damn good fight. I agree with you that his style and aggression are what made him great.

 

Holmes was terrible at that point and Spinks was more of a light -heavyweight with no chance of winning. Spinks was very overrated and did nothing since.
