It's possible, not going to disagree with you there. If Dempsey can handle the speed, it could be a long night for mike
Spinks didn't do anything else, but if he had fought someone less who knows what he would have done, this is the fun of these "fantasy" fights. All we know is Tyson handled the Holmes and Spinks versions that faced him in the ring. They were both great fighters in their own rights, but who knows how they truly would have matched up. I know keyboard warriors like to say that Tyson, Lewis, and the Klitshko's were bums, but they are douchebags who have never dared to step into any fighting arena of their own. All of these ATG fighters are there because they earned it, not cuz some ******* who sits behind his keyboard says so.
Tyson would wipe the slate clean with Dempsey, its fair to say if a fighter could be knocked out, Tyson would do it. Larry went through his whole career never being knocked out and didn't last long against Tyson. Spinks went toe to toe with a very good holmes for 30 rounds and wasn't dropped. Tyson beat 4 world champions by knockout mostly in under 6 rounds. Head to head only a handful of guys can beat tyson, and dempsey isn't one of them. Dempsey. Dempsey is a guy who had 9 draws. He was never able to even best willie meehan for goodness sake and he fought him 5 times! While Tyson did lose to Lewis and Holyfield he was beyond his best by those points and those are two damn good fighters. Frankly there are less than 3 heavyweight who prime vs prime beat Lewis head to head and its probably just johnson ali and maybe louis.
Theyre similar in some ways, but very different mentally. Mike Tyson was always a bit weak mentally, whereas Jack Dempsey was fking strong in that area. Prime for Prime, I think there's just too much physical disadvantage for Jack to overcome, Tyson by T/KO.
Hmmm no sure, Tyson had a better style than Dempsey imo, could avoid shots better in his prime. If they fought though and Dempsey got him in trouble I believe he would finish Mike off. Tyson was more vulnerable where the same cannot be said for Dempsey.
