Sullivan was a physical wreck before the Kilrain fight.William Muldoon performed a miracle getting him back into reasonable shape for Jake.
John L was definitely shot by the time he fought Corbett he was an alcoholic and fat as a bullock, plus he had been out of action for over 3 years. Corbett backtracked making Sullivan expend energy, futilely chasing him around the ring he didn't go to work on John until late, similar to Johnson v Jeffries, because the fight went into the 21st rd doesn't mean Corbett couldn't have ended it earlier if he had been willing to take chances.

Just look at Boxrec, it is all reported there but I'm not you search machine (service)...

Every fight what was scored by the refereee was decided by a judge. Every Newpaper decisison were no official outcome of a contests, just showed in which tendency could have gone it. But many competitions ended in no contests at that time.
It is not necessary that these have held in the US, in Australia, Britain or France just count as well and I never claimed anything was exclusive in the USA, that requirement made only you without causing it. Especially as Jackson boxed more in Australia and was from the British Virgin Islands.

I read the fight report of is few years ago, via link on Boxrec. But I don't need anything.

I am relative certain, that Jackson was in the seperate rounds knocked down and at least is there maintained that most of the audience had the "Irish Cavalier" winning it.
Maybe could it be scored 43 to 18, without even rounds (but this is a guess).

By the way is Jackson arguable one of the 3 best opponents of Corbett (as he can be rated higher than Mitchel and Killrain, possible also a little bit better than Choyinsky and Fitzsimmons), after Sullivan and Jeffries.

So no source for your claim, just as there was not a single source for judges deciding contests in the 1890's as usual YOU ARE FULL OF IT!

I believe kilran was older and in worse shape. There were questions on him coming up to the fight more than Sullivan.

I don't know Kilrain's condition I'll have to do some reading.

Kilrain was in infinitely better shape than Sullivan, and many picked him on that alone.

Jackson vs. Corbett had no knockdowns, although at one point in the fight, Corbett did have Jackson quite hurt. But he wasn't able to finish him. My recollection is this was somewhere in the neighborhood of the 30th round, but I'd have to check my own book. :)

Kilrain meet better gloved fighters than Sullivan. Slavin who Sullivan ducked / avoided and Gofdrey. He also fought Corbett and Mitchell. An under rate resume and one who wan't afraid to cross the color line.

Slavin was a heavy drinking ,nearly 35years old back number when Kilrain met him.
