SRL had a better ring IQ than RJJ.

And Pazienza and Grant don't belong in the same sentence as Duran.

Leonard was well past it when he lost to Norris and Camacho. He would have destroyed them both in his prime.

He says Leonard's first 10+ fights weren't against notable opponents when other than Toney and Hopkins, Jones didn't fight many people of note in his prime.

And he says Leonard isn't a top 5 welterweight. I don't see why anyone would take him seriously after saying something that stupid.

Amateurs: leanard obviously because he won gold, but jones was blatantly robbed in the Olympics so theres an asterisk* there.

Career: leanard had more big names, but roy conquered more weight classes and made history. Quantity vs quality.

Ppv/stadiums: id say about even, both are household names and were tremendous attractions for at least a decade.

Footwork: leanard was more of a traditional outsider fighter but could also switch it up as a boxer puncher and go for broke. Roy was very unorthodox but made it work somehow. He didnt get tagged as much as Leanard in his prime and his opponents were chasing his afterimage like an anime character. Advantage Roy.

Handspeed: very close. Roy was more explosove, leanard was more deceptive and better at hiding his intentions.

Power: slight edge to roy seeing as he kept power at super middle and light heavy.

    Chin/defense: obviously leanard

Ring iq: roy relied more on his natural talent and reflexes until someone forced him to actually think (toney, hopkins, ruiz, etc). Leanard was always thinking and always professional. Advantage Leanard.

Punch selection/variety: id say even, both guys had excellent jabs, hooks, rights, body shots, flurries, you name it.

Overall 3-4-2 (leanard-draw-roy). VERY close when comparing career/resume/individual skill.

It's a tricky one, Leonard thought better comp but Jones looked the more invincible at his peak. Both were blinding fast but Jones edges it in timing, accuracy and punch selection.

Concur ^. If the Hagler of the SRL fight, fought prime Monzon over 15 rounds...it might have not been pretty.
