Who was closest to Sugar Ray Robinson stylistically?

Mosley, big time. He had good feet but he fell in love with his power and when he moved up to fight bigger guys he was stymied. It happens

Ike Williams from the Jack fight reminded me exactly of Robinson.

Ezzard Charles wasn't "trash" compared to anybody.

 

stylistically comparing him with robinson is like comparing a hamburguer with caviar. ray landed betetr combinations, he was more accurate puncher, his foot work was miles better, he had better timing, robinson was ****ing better in everything

 

Robinson was better at everything than virtually everyone...the questions was "who was closest"

 

yeah... and my answer was clear... charles was not even close, i said that cassius clay 1964 had as good footwork, but he did not had the hitting power (pfp), and robinson did hit the body much better and he landed better combinations of short blows like hooks and uppers, but clay had the closest foot work

 

A prime Shane Mosey's movement and stance were modeled right after Robinson. The way he flicked out his jab while dipping his head off center and sliding back and forth, the way he turned into his hooks to the body, very like Robinson.

 

Does that mean Robinson would get schooled by Mayweather Jr.?

Ezzard Charles was one of the greatest pure boxers ever to compete, he didn't 'sway' the silky smooth way of SRR but Charles like ALL lovely beautiful boxers possessed similar style to Robinson... that's all, that's it.

there are too many people that take too much to the letter around these sites, and the fact that they can be just that much anal demostates that they are the foolish trouble makers. Not guys who are just making fair educated comment & observation!

 

i never said that charles was not an all time great in his own game, but still i watch him on the film and i do the same thing with robinson and i can´t see the similarities that´s all, and i trained a few years the boxing, i am pretty sure that more than 4 figures of cartoons here never trained boxing in their lifes but they talk here like "authorities" lmao

 

Sure IF thats the case then your point is acceptable, though not necessary! the amount of knowledgable guys here would surprise you and many well connected (me too), but that doesn't automatically make them/me perfect but you can always decern the big mouths & trouble makers without having to take too much issue with them.

but with respect to Charles and pure stylish boxers they ALL share similarities even to SRR.
