Probably Jofre he has a fair amount of similarities to Robinson. Also to the poster claiming Charles was "trash" try watching his fights, he was one of the most skilled boxers ever and was a better in fighter than Ray not to mention having one of the greatest resumes in the sport.

Some serious Charles disrespect in here. :ohno

Charles didn't really fight like Robinson. I don't get that comparison, but calling him trash, even when compared to Robi, is laughable. You could argue that Charles is better technically and has a better résumé, both arguments I'd make. Burley isn't really a good pick either imo, as he was more of a sit-back-and-wait type guy, whereas Robinson boxed on his toes a lot, with lots of lateral movement and combinations. He was also excellent on the front foot.

Anyway, Johnny Bratton is the best answer I've seen in here. And was my immediate thought when I read the title. He fought like a Robinson fanboy.

Was this guy the same guy as charlie tf, comatesdeboxeo, foreman&dempsey?

All the talk of 'trash', the 'lmao', the macho username, the broken English, the denigrating of other reasonable posters, the macho posturing. It has all the hallmarks of him. I see he's been banned. Is that a permanent one or can we expect a dreaded 'second wave'?

Anyway, in answer to the question, when he first came along Tito Trinidad was being touted as the new SRR. The feet ultimately sold him short in that stratosphere but the ability to dramatically close the show with big bombs coming from both hands was Sugaresque.

There's good reason Ray Leonard could get away with calling himself Sugar Ray. He's essentially a more refined version

    Kid Chocolate (the original one)

    Johnny Bratton

I wouldn't go with Mosley (too stiff) or Charles (much more defensive and less fluid)

Ray Leonard & Thomas Hearns both showed bits of Sugar Ray at times in their career.

Angelo Dundee said that if Tommy had only had Leonard's balance, he would have been the best of the fab four.

Give Tommy Ray's balance (and stamina/chin) and he would have been Sugar Ray Robinson. Shows how good Robinson was when you have to add that much to an already great fighter just to draw comparisons. In fact, the perfect fighter might have Hearns' speed and power, Hagler's toughness and stamina, Ray's balance and Duran's killer instinct. That sounds like Ray Robinson.

Your correct, Burley threw punches sparingly, waiting for the perfect slot/gap to zero in, unlike SRR who threw his in salvos.
