Pedroza seemed more blatant about it. "I am a son of the WBA and no one will do anything to me, so I will now punch your nuts right into your throat."

At least Hopkins gave the impression of caring about the rules.

What fights of either guy do you suggest I watch to see this blatant fouling and dirty tactics....or is this a hygiene related inquiry?

Pedroza was dirtier, but more skilled IMO.

For all his reputation for fouling, I don't recall pedroza doing much wrong in the mcguigan fight. You'd have thought getting beaten like that would make him foul more. I guess Barry never gave him the chance.

Give me a no hold barred fighter every day over these popular favorites who can only win when everythings to their liking. Hey you think LaPorte could of got his cup under his armpits more? Now THAT was cheating. FIGHTERS OVER PUSSBOYS EVERYDAY

Both would bend the rules to win but i take Pedroza over Hopkins any day. Pedroza like long time champion Tszyu when he lost the title had no excuses and took the loss with dignity unlike Hopkins.

I've only seen 4 or 5 of Pedroza's fights. As other have said, the McGuigan fight was really marred by foul tactics, so that makes me question whether he was as dirty as the sensational foul-fest against LaPorte would imply.

I think people are forgetting how dirty Bernard was at times. Kenny Bayless said that Hopkins vs. Syd Vanderpool was the dirtiest/roughest fight he'd ever refereed. There was plenty of fouling going on against Antwun Echols and Robert Allen too. And a couple of really nasty headbutts in the fights with Jermain Taylor and Winky Wright. And at least a little holding and hitting + kidney punching + aggressive use of elbows and shoulders in most of his fights. It's even worse if you count all of the other stunts he used to pull to swing things in his favor (the phantom low-blow against Joe Calzaghe etc.)

Don't get me wrong, I have a ton of respect for B. Hop. while on the other hand I completely disagree with the people who say Pedroza was on the same level of Salvador Sanchez, but I'll go against the popular tide and pick Hopkins for this one.

Pedroza openly but for all his machismo and street creed Hopkins was one nasty crybaby when he lost .. the image of him faking pain for extended periods to rest against Calzaghe was pretty pathetic.
