Chiquita won the second two fights by narrow margins and he was winning the first before Carbajal stopped him in that unforgettable classic. Chiquita Gonzalez had a lot of great wins but he had such a tendancy to punch himself out when he got wild even though he had great boxing skills when he used them. Carbajal was a great puncher and he had incredible heart. The icing on the cake of his legacy is the glorious rally to stop Arce in his last fight. So who do rate higher historically.
Tough one, liked them both. Purely on edging the series and fighting slightly better opposition, I say Humberto... just.
Even though he lost 2 of 3 vs Gonzales, I think Carbajal was greater..he proved it in that great 1st match...and he was never the same again.
Carbajal , and not just because of their encounters against each other . IDK Y U claim Carbajal fought d better opposition . They fought each other , both outpointed Melchor Cob Castro (Gonzalez did it twice) , but Gonzalez got stopped 2 times besides of against Carbajal , retired at 29 , and it was Castro whom stopped Rolando Pascua whom stopped Gonzalez . So Carbajal>Castro>Gonzalez clearly . Gonzalez was also stopped by a man whom got stopped by Ricardo Lopez FFS .
