My vote goes with Erik Morales because of the victims on his resume: In-jin Chi, Wayne McCollough, Marco Antonio Barrera, MANNY PACQUIAO, JUNIOR JONES, Daniel Zaragoza, Paulie Ayala, Jesus Chavez.
Barrera has a pretty good resume himself: Erik Morales(2x), Naseem Hamed, Johnny Tapia, Kevin Kelly, Paulie Ayala, Robbie Peden, Jesus Salud.

Morales Notable losses: Barrera(2x), Manny Pacquiao(2x), Zahir Raheem, David Diaz

Barrera Notable losses: Manny Pacquiao(2x), Morales, Junior Jones(2x), Juan Manuel Marquez

I'm not a fan of the "Barrera is because he beat Morales twice" argument. Mayorga isn't better than Forrest, Junior Jones isn't better than Barrera, Robbie Peden isn't better than Nate Campbell, so on and so forth.

What does the trick for me, because both are evenly matched, is the way Morales controlled Pacquiao so clearly in their first fight.

But thats just me...tell me what you think.

It's really hard to say and I don't want to say one or the other but how could you go against Barrera who beat him 2 out of 3

    Morales

I wish Morales would have gotten the Hamed fight instead of Barrera. I wanted that fight so bad at the time. I am pretty confident Morales would have beaten him and that would have improved his resume even more.

You know if JMM keeps kicking so much ass, although I like JMM, it is not good for Morales' legacy:lol:

I hear you, but I go with Morales for doing what Barrera couldn't do, namely, beat Junior Jones and Manny Pacquiao.

Both are great but I'll have to pick Morales here. I'm a just a BIG-TIME Morales fan, one of my all-time favorites, really hard to vote against him in this one even though he did lose to Barrera twice. If it's a case of accomplishments I would pick Morales, if it's a one on one battle then Barrera takes it as he already did in the ring.

Barrera their resumes are quite comparable but Barrera took 2 of 3 and that means something.

You got that right. That knockout over Casamayor did wonders for him.

although Barrera was the better fighter overall by a slim margin, i like Morales better because lets face the man is a true bad ass legend who will never be forgotten, while Barrera in the long run will be remembered as a whiny little brat

Morales the better warrior, Barrera the better fighter if that makes any sense.

IMO, You really can't separate the two and say one is "better" than the other -- They're forever joined together in that era as two great warriors, and to give one top billing over another seems inappropriate.

Morales may be the better fighter but H2H Barrera takes it.
