Do you realize how bad Ruddock was in 1995?

Foreman being slow as a grandpa made it easier for him to run from him.

This is true,i actually think he regrouped years later on the rest fighting lower level fighters, because he looked much better against Morrison. Tyson really took some years off him. foreman was still a top win compared to who Mercer beat ,he lost to a 43 year old Holmes.

It's debatable that Ruddock was never the same after the Tyson fights, and he had only fought once in 3 years against a journeyman before going up against Morrison.

Beating that version of Foreman wasn't all that hard, to be honest. That Foreman wasn't really dangerous at the top level unless you brought the fight to him. He was not hard to outbox, at that point.

I think my top 10 Lewis victims would look something like this:

    Vitali
    Holyfield
    Ruddock
    Tua
    Mercer
    Bruno
    Golota

Vitali being the best one and the others in no particular order.

These guys were IMO all better than Tommy. McCall and Briggs are debatable. So yes, lower end of top 10.

Morrison was fresher than Ruddock was at the time Lewis fought them both. Golota was never really better then Morrison at any point. none of the others you listed were in their primes.

An example of how ****ysing a fighters resume can make it look less impressive.

Oliver McCall (first fight) and Tua

I don't get anyone thinking Morrison was one of his best opponents. He had already been stopped by Bennt and he beat a way past it Ruddock.

Of the three Mercer was closest to Prime. He was slightly overweight and out of shape but he gave a game effort. Many ppl feel he won.

No way is it Morrison. He was already HIV positive ( HIV has a 4-6 month incubation period where it's undetectable at least that is the case in the mid 90s when the fight took place) he tested positive for his very next bout against Arthur "stormy" weathers. Effectively ending his career despite a few comebacks against club fighters.
Even without the disease ravaging his body he was not the same fighter. 89-92 were his best yrs.

Tua was closest to his physical Prime but showed up like a hog. Pathetic on. His part for biggest fight of his life.

Would you put money on another Bentt win or Mercer? I don't see how Morrison is not his best guy while in his prime. Ruddock was better in that fight than he was with Lewis. I also highly doubt Tua would beat foreman either.

89/91 he was way to young and careless,he was not defensively savvy.

Morrison only applies if it had been the 93 Morrison who was due to fight Lewis after he beat Brentt.

Unfortunately he thought he'd wing that fight and payed he price for it.

Lewis prime opponents were better than Tysons.

Don't think Vitaly was quite prime. Morrison certainly weren't.

Out of Mercer or Bruno, or Ruddock or Golota (lol)

The answer is Vitali. He was in his prime.
