Cooney is more likely to destroy you early if you make a defensive mistake but Ruddock is more durable (barring the Lewis fight). Cooney is also a more dangerous body puncher. So Cooney is more likely to stop you in the first 5 rounds but his lack of durability means a high chance that if you survive him early, you will stop him late. If you survive Ruddock early, Ruddock can still be dangerous late as we saw in the second Tyson fight. Cooney couldn't last vs Tyson. Ironically both men were reportedly naturally left handed and were taught to box right handed. If this is true, these were dreadful mistakes. Given how rare actual lefty heavyweights were back then, if Cooney and Ruddock were encouraged to develop as natural lefties, they both likely would have picked up a belt.
