Who was more eroded? Jones from the Calzaghe fight or Tyson from the Lewis fight?

true. i just think that when you weigh desire against skill at that time in both fighters careers, rjj had more desire and less skill and tyson had more skill and less desire.

edit to say i am a bit of a rjj hugger, i just think ^^^^

Yea but Tyson's speed and refelxes was also faded which is a factor when your fighting a tall fighter, with a big reach advantage.

they both were finished but at least jones was in better shape. tyson wieghed 234 against lewis, the second highest wieght of his career. his career high is 239 and that was his last fight before the lewis fight. all in all, neither calzaghe or lewis proved much by those fights. those were just paydays.

thats what they said. but if its true, tyson was still too heavy, his prime wieght is 218-220.

    He grew more.

228 was a good weight for him.

    His problem then wasn't weight.

what are you talking about? he was always around 220 even into his 30's. he was 218 against holyfield in the rematch. a guy like tyson, who already undersized, has to use speed. being 5'11 and almost 230, isnt gonna cut it.

I mean he bulked up more.

He was already bigger from orevious years and he went up to 239 to fight Nielsen.

nah, the wieght increase has more to do with his wild lifestyle. but if you look at his best performances, he was always around 218-220, or mayb e slightly over it. 228 is just too high for him. you gotta remember he was only 5'11".

Maybe. But he did get to 225 with Etienne.

If he wanted to he probably would have made 220.

well, he was so out of shape against neilsen, and getting older, the wieght probably was hard get take off. he didnt look that much better shape against lewis then he did aginst neilsen.

Yeah but he said he put on weight with Nielsen so he can be stronger on the inside with the 260 lbs dane.

And indeed he was stronger in clinches.

Jones was more eroded I think. The KD was an elbow really, Jones had no punch power left.

Calzaghe repeatedly put his grinning face forward with his hands at his sides and let Jones tee off, and Roy simply had zero power to do anything. Although Tyson was also shot against Lewis, had Lewis allowed a similar thing to happen, Tyson would certainly have hurt him. Imagine Calzaghe had dropped his hands to a peak Jones?! They would have had to help him out of row Z. Jones was more eroded physically.
