I'd give Holyfield the edge, but it's close.

I thought Holyfield's combinations were more impressive, and I liked the way he fought back from the brink so often.
But I might need to refresh my mind with some Chavez bouts too.

I think Chavez was ever so slightly more exciting and more consistently exciting at the highest level,...but Holy was no slouch either...I mean, there wasn't much that you could ***** about him about.

I love this thread. Chavez was super exciting. His relentless attack was a thing to behold. The pursuit of a 100-0 record was compelling. The Taylor fight is one of the best I've ever seen. But when I think of Holyfield v Qawi, Dokes and Bowe, clarity sets in and it becomes a no-brainer for me.

Chavez. But, both were monumentally exciting.

Chavez fought 80 odd bums before he even started and the way he was dismantled by Sweet Pea was sad to see.

He fought Roger Mayweather in his first 40 some. Whitaker didn't dismantle him, he out boxed him, but it wasn't as far away as people like to make it sound. A little suggestion by the way, go and actually watch the fight.
