In the States yes, he got applauded for it elsewhere. At least he didn't fake 5 deferments for bonespurs.

Michael Jackson was the most popular person on Earth. Bar none. It's not even close.

Yes, Americans must realise that the likes of Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods might have comparable fame to Michael Jackson in the USA but outside of America their popularity is nowhere close to his.

Both Tyson and Jackson were once promoted by Don King, too.

King promoted "The Victory Tour." It was Jackson's first tour after Thriller was released. Eddie Van Halen played lead guitar on "Beat It" on a couple dates. It was a huge event that was supposed to start in North America and head overseas.

Before the tour got to Europe, though, the Jacksons and King had made a fortune, but Michael Jackson's hair had caught on fire filming a Pepsi commercial, Michael had enough of his brothers and his dad, Don King called Jackson a ****** for abandoning the tour, Michael threatened to sue King, and the financial backer (the owner of the New England Patriots) lost everything and had to sell the team.

Classic King. Some get rich. Some go bankrupt. And everyone is calling everyone a ****** and threatening to sue by the end of the night .

I think the word that could describe both is overrated . Neither were the best of their craft and both had a weird fascination for kids.
