Apparently JMM vs. Pac is penciled already on March 15, 2008. It is really hard to gauge how the fight would turn out. For one, lot of changes had happened since their last fight 3 years ago. Pac added some arsenal to his left hand, and learned how to box a bit. While JMM had apparently been practicing based on the number of lefties he fought since pac. JMM seems to slug a little more than usual. JMM also aged but seem to retain his speed and stamina (although I believe that his slugging has something to do with his aging up a bit). They only had one common opponent : MAB. Based on performance againts MAB (the PAC-MAB 2, JMM-MAB), who do you think performed better?
They both dominated Mab IMO. Jmm doing more damage because Mab wanted to Brawl, and Pac outboxing Mab because Mab didnt want to brawl.
Barrera/Marquez was a close fight. Pacquiao's fights with Barrera were dominations. Ummm, not really that hard a question.
pac-mab1 > pac-jmm > pac-mab2 pac's performance in his first fight against mab was nothing less than spectacular. jmm pales in comparison to that one, add to that, jmm was dropped by mab. pac-mab2 on the other hand was not as impressive as jmm's performance against mab. i don't know if it was pac's fault or if it was mab not wanting to fight.
Is this a joke? Pac koed MAB when MAB was 4 years younger and was P4P #2. Then he totally dominated MAB right after JMM barely beat him. Just look at the punchstats for JMM-MAB and Pac-MAB 2. Not even close.
MAB hurt him more though Pac did manage to trouble MAB in the 2nd fight, when MAB started feeling the heat, he fouled to get some breaks  And furthermore, it is indeed very difficult to hurt MAB when he is on bicycle mode.:yep
What I saw in the barrera rematch was Pacquiao fighting his opponent's game to prove a point. He beat Barrera at the game he wanted to play with relative ease. No doubt that Barrera/Marquez was a foty candidate, and an excellent fight, but Barrera was never really in against Pacquiao.
I gotta agree with this post. Even though Pacquiao was able to outpunch and outland MAB, he went with the flow of the fight that Barrera dictated, and it happened forced more times than voluntarily by Pacquiao. The fight between MAB-JMM was much more pleasing to watch. An all out technical battle to see who could outsmart who, there were counters to counter counters, set ups, traps, slugging, defensive combat, and a lot of drama. That was the sweet science at its best, a complete elite fight. Technical and exciting at the same time. And it ended up with JMM having the better tool box.
You hit a good point there. The commentay by HBO on the JMM fight was discusting. Their hype machine was at full throtle that night. I had the fight 8-4 for Marquez and the Pac-MAB 9-3 for Pacquiao. Barrera sure made it competitive but Marquez also obviously was getting the better of him, specially in the second half.
