Hate to nitpick, Lenny. Cheers. But Hagler didn't fight Fletcher

Mark said it. Duran actually fought Hagler, Leonard ran (and in my eyes obviously lost, though it was a fairly close fight).

Sugar Ray Leonard.....4 year lay-off ...no tune up...in a weight division he’d never fought in before ....against the pound for pound number 1 fighter in the world

Marvin Hagler was a switch hitter ....that’s how he fought

Duran showed a great defense and a great right hand ....which we already knew he had

They were both immensely impressive. The love for Duran and usual hate for SRL will of course shine thru in various guises.

Ray actually beat Hagler tho it was an aged version compared to what Duran faced however Ray hadn't fought for 3 years and only once in 5 years. Duran was peak at 135 which was lighter than Ray's 147.

Let it be said that as great as Hagle was both these guys were better in ring P4P fighters and if they were born natural middleweight both would have beat any version of Marvin.

Good question. Ray beat Marvin - Roberto lost to Marvin.
Duran fought a better Hagler - Ray fought a shopworn though hardly shot Hagler.

Very little in it. Duran put up a great fight against a prime albeit cautious Hagler. With Leonard,a lot criticise him for waiting till Marvin was past prime but transparently forgetting that Leonard was also past his best.

Hey JT .. would have been interesting to have seen Hagler go balls to the wall against Roberto and Ray from the opening bell like he did against Hearns ..

I had Hagler beating both of them clearly. The Duran fight wasn't at all close.
Leonard was more impressive because he'd been out of the ring for so long

For sure HG the trouble is Hagler rarely ever fought like that.

When motivated to do so .. think of Seales 3, Vito 2, Hamani of of course Hearns ..
