Who was more past it - Hopkins against Calzaghe or Tszyu against Hatton?

Hattons win was better and full credit to him.

But that most definitely was not a prime Tszyu- not even close. Hatton beat the fighter in front of him conclusively. Congrats

It wasn't prime Tszyu going in against Hatton in his prime with all the advantages in the world in his hometown and still it was close as hell, just proves how tough and great Tszyu really is.

Tszyu had mentally retired ... although the right hand was gone as well. Foreman commented during the fight 'His mind wants to throw it, but the body doesn't respond. That's called getting old.'

Hopkins physically was worse, but I think mentally he appeared more focused. Just could no longer do the things he used to.

Both performed as well as they did on pure talent ... but both were past it. Hatton's win looks better on paper.

Hopkins was 43. He had no legs sencond half of the fight, and I predicted he would loose them second half of the fight too. Hopkins is a 12rounds fighter only if he can control the pace to make fights throw 12 punches a round, he couldnt with Calzaghe therefore his age really showed.

hopkins was the more past his peak. however he has changed and adjusted well such that he was a more effective fighter coming into the calzaghe fight than tszyu was coming into the hatton fight.

Hopkins was more past it. But I think Kostya would have beaten Hatton on neutral ground, while i don't think Hopkins could have done any better against Calzaghe

Hattons win was the bigger, Tszyu actually fought well but Hatton just walked through his bombs which wasnt expected.

Hopkins win for Joe was still a good win, to bully his way through that **** awful defensive style of Hopkins took some doing.

Hopkins may be a ripe age but his style is very awkward to deal with nowadays and if he is not to lazy mid rounds we could see a class fight with RJJ, it would have my PPV cash......

I think Hopkins was further from his physical peak, based on his vaunted stamina beginning to fail him in the latter rounds. And Kostya never looked great against someone who knew how to smother his power, see his fight vs Roger Mayweather for an example.

All you guys that are telling Fat Joe that Zoo was nearer his prime than Hopkins (which is what most people in the Brit forum told him) arn't giving him the answer he wants to hear. He wants to be able to go back to the Brit forum and say "all the big boys on the General Forum say Zoo was more shot than Hopkins"....;)
