Out of these two fighters who was the more proven one before tragic circumstances took place???.....and who do you feel would have panned out to be the better fighter if their cowardly acts didn't take place?

Valero achieved more imo. Two division champ, albeit against weak opposition.

But Lozado, Mosquera, and especially Demarco and Pitalua were far better than anyone Torito beat.

I think we're getting cowardice and psychosis mixed up a bit for Valero. The man was out of his mind for some time. He should've been committed ages before that happened.

    Absolutely.

The Funny Man 7 is absolutely spot on.

Valero wasn't all that, but he showed more ability against a higher level of opposition than Ayala did.

As a fighter, Ayala was absolute dog ****.

Both had one knockdown in their career...both came back with a vengeance.

    Ayala 22-0, 19 KO's...Valero 27-0 all KO's...

Valero edges it, but not by much.

Hard to say who would've had the better career. However, both had ferocity and freakish power, and were only going to be more dominant with each fight.

I think Valero would've taken out Manny, as sure as Tony would've blasted Duran, Hearns and Benitez.

Valero was Ayala and Monzon rolled into one.

Duran and Benitez were LW's. They didn't have the stamina to keep up with the younger and stronger Ayala. Not at 154.

Hearns...He certainly could KO anybody, but could his china chin avoid Tony forever?

If Ayala is not taken out early, I think not.
