Who was more talented Roy Jones or James Toney

You reckon thats sort of how he fight actually gooners...I mean obviously a poor mans version.

But he seems to mix the style of the Calderon, who actually uses his lack of height to his advantage..and some of more the textbook moves of Floyd.

As I said though..doesnt all come together that well but he is a solid Euro-level fighter.

 

Clearly and easily Roy Jones.

I dont believe I have mate.

I watched his fight with Bouzaine and some Italian bloke.

I actually think he is very similar to a guy like Gairy St Claire.

 

if the jones-toney fight was a 15 rounder toney would have knocked jones out, I dont deny that it was a dominant and impressive performance from jones but in the later rounds I noticed a suttle shift in jones he was wearing down a bit and toney had adjusted and was starting to get to him more

 

Both are Jive-ass mothers'.... Both have talent and ability, too.... But, deep down, I gotta go with Toney as the better technician who has also fought the better opposition..... Roy Jones fought a lotta' bums and stiffs during his prime title days..... Also, Roy Jones got by on speed and reflexes for several years there..... Jones never learned how to snap a jab or properly move laterally about the ring.... Once Jones' speed and reflexes faded, Jones became normal...... Yeah, all in all, James Toney knew how to properly fight and execute a more professional attack....

I don't wanna hear any more **** about their suck-ass PPV fight of 1994, either... I hate seeing one guy (Toney) 35 pounds overweight just FIVE weeks prior to the fight........ Toney was so weight-drained coming into that fight that he looked like a limp dick..........

The 200+ pound version of James Toney would hammer Roy Jones in the ring........

depends what talent you are talking about. physical talent then it's jones, but boxing and fighting it's toney. he didn't learn to box until late like 18 and only about 30-40 amateur fights yet he boxes like it's second nature. jones been doing this since he was little and he had his dad by his side to help him.

 

Jones had more talent to win fights and dazzle. Toney had slightly better boxing fundamentals.

 

Roy Jones obviously, next thread, and please noone say tony!

 

toney's talent carried him beyond his prime years and beyond his prime weight, can't say the same for roy jones

 

Based on talent alone, only srl and srr can compete with roy. His athleticism in his prime was on another level.

 

Jones had the natural talent. Toney has the bigger neck and can take a better shot.
