That is possible.
But Tyson was 24 and was on a run of excellent wins. You dont just jump out of your prime just like that.

People try to justify Tyson's loss by saying he had problems outside the ring and he wasnt in his prime. Thats a bull**** excuse, even if it is true, you cant pick and choose when a fighters prime is.
They revere Tyson so much, they truly believe he was the best heavy ever just cause he was so devastating. And they feed this delusion with the belief that Tyson somehow magically sucumb to the ravages of old age and years of punishment at the ripe age of 24. Therefore it wasnt his fault he lost to Douglas, a "Prime" Tyson, of less then 2 years prior, would have torn through Douglas.
Very weak arguement if you ask me.

Whatever. Fighters have been hit when they were down before and the fighter was not DQ'd immediately. It's a true statement. I feel my credibility is fine. If it is evaporating with you, so be it.

 

I don't disagree with any of that. I merely pointed out that there have been similar instances where the fighter was no DQ'd.

Agree - Tyson's prime was from 86-89...And at that time he was unbeatable. Even a prime Lewis would loose at this point in Tyson's career.

It's close - but I would say RR by a little, however...
