Let's be honest, every boxer no matter how good/great they are, didn't truly get there alone. The role of the Coach/Trainer is one of extreme importance as they are the architect of what a boxers style is or can be. Some boxers stick with their coaches for their whole career, some maybe for a training camp, but the need to have some one in your corner to guild you in the fight, is one that is a truly overlooked endeavor.

Who is the best Coach/Trainer that is currently coaching, no-longer coaching, and who is the best of all time? And who did they coach? (letting people who don't know have that context)

My pick has to go to the Late Emanuel Steward, trainer of Lennox Lewis, Thomas Hearns, and countless others for the GOAT COACH status. His style and methods that made it great for any fighter to come into his gym and master the fundamentals while building mental strength. KRONK is an institution and for good reason. There is a reason why is one of the greatest coaches ever because this man knows the complexities, simplicities, and science behind boxing. If the Sweet Science had a Doctor, Steward would have been the Surgeon General.

Currently, Freddie Roach is one of the best ones working today. But I am open to others if they impress me with it, but no standouts quite yet. some good for the time, but idk what else.

Ray Arcel in terms of resume is some distance ahead of all with probably Futch coming second.
George Benton, Steward, Jack Blackburn, Freddie Brown, Luis Sarria, Angelo Dundee, Nacho Beristain all worth mentioning.

Buddy McGirt seems to have the knack of getting a lot out of a fighter.

Emanuel Steward is who I think of when I read the word” Boxing Coach “....each fighter was different and he adapted to their style ...he also had a different interpersonal relationship with each fighter...which is what a “ coach “ is supposed to be

The problem with these sorts of questions is that there are so many excellent teachers of boxing that fans and followers are unaware of. Most of the guys that show up in these answers are the guys you see in the ring on fight night.

But the guys that build the fighters in the gym, doing the day to day gym work, go unknown. A real simple example is Freddie Brown and Roberto Duran; Ray Arcel gets the credit but it was Brown that taught Duran and built him in the gym between fights.

They used to refer to Brusa as the Angelo Dundee of South America, he got called in for big fights. He was in Tomas Molinares corner when he knocked out Marlon Starling in 1988.

Yes as he also trained fighters in Los Angeles and Miami area... And was more of a "developer" with his guys from the get go ... unlike Dundee who was more of a strategist brought in 2 or 3 weeks towards the end of the camp

Was with Carlos Monzon from the start until the end. I saw Brusa in Sugar Ray Leonard's fight against his fighter Daniel Gonzales of Argentina in 1979. That is the fight that I was on my way to buy a beer when I encountered the great Carlos Monzon.
