But just based on that one fight - he has achieved what is currently Hayes heavyweight ambition

Well we all know the Brit forum is unamnious in their judgement of Haye is better than Enzo.

So this thread was to see who was the best out of the Crusierweight ruler in Britain before Haye became champion.

I think Nelson could have beaten him

I think Nelson could have beaten him - the reflexes would have helped take some of Haye's power out of the equation.

I wouldn't bet on it though - but I see it going the full 12 and Haye being the winner, but nobody would be jumping up and down saying that David is the second coming.

I pretty much agree with that.

However I think that Nelson would take the decsion due to his extra experience and ring craft.

Haye might have his moments - he is a powerful dude.

Remeber how Nelson was down and hurt V Ezra Sellers.

But this is by no means some Haye walk over.

This is a geunine competitve fight I think Nelson can take

i think prime nelson would have KO'd haye, better long range ability, he had quick counter reflexes where he could expose hayes little mistakes like dropping his hands, leaping in etc..... its a 50/50 fight....he could keep haye at distance with his jab.... 'where haye would be trying to work his way in i could see nelson circling him looking for them powerfull counters - uppercuts

Nelson lost more fights than haye but i think hes got the style to expose haye

    :rofl :nut

Thats just like me saying Haye beat Enzo because Enzo was stupid and dropped his hands and put his chin in the air and stupidly didnt take a knee and let his head clear, etc, etc, etc.

    Stop the silly excuses.

Haye lost because he was inexperienced.

Enzo done these mistakes because he was inexperienced.

Thats part of what makes a fighter - good and bad - experience and inexperience.

At the time of the fight - Haye was not experienced to cope with Carl Thompson.

That is something very valuable that Nelson would hold over Haye - experience - and lots of it.

As much as I like Nelson he was never a world champion. He had some good wins but blew his two world title shots.

Whatever excuse you make for Haye

    on the night

Haye was not good enough to beat Thompson - at that point in his career

    How good was Mormeck? :think

Not the best Crusierweight Champion ever me thinks.

O NEIL BELL - the guy who he lost and wan too - is just a crude brawler.

Haye's heavyweight tests will show his true merit - he is good not god

    1) Your first point sums it up completely.
    2) Haye did indeed beat the MAN. You disagree?
    3) You need to visit an English Grammar class, 'More Primer':patsch
    4) Diverse meaning crapper.

A lot of people can't stand Witter or Nelson because of their styles. I'm a fan of both, I think Nelson could have outslicked Haye and maybe even have stopped him but there is always the chance at some stage of Haye's power having the final say.
