Who was the best pound for pound...........Roy Jones or Floyd Mayweather

Who should Roy have fought?

 

There isnt a lot between Jones & Mayweather, its a close call, RJJ was faster & had more power where as FMJ had the better technical boxing skills & is less reliant on natural physical gifts.

I lean towards Mayweather & by the look of the votes, Im the only man who does. Oh well.

I go by Roy closely, many people give him the 'p4p H2H' title ( ) and im one of them...

Im okay with people saying floyd has the better resume though.

at least Roy didn't move up to Heavyweight, grab a belt then fight Light Heavyweights and Cruiserweights then claim to be the best Heavyweight in the world all the while ducking actual Heavyweights.

PBF beat the best too...he beat the best at 130 CORRALES...the best at 135 twice JLC...the best at 140 Hatton...the best at 154 Oscar

I guess RJJ talent wise may be as good or even better when he was beating on eric lucas...not so much when he finally stpped up to big fights at light heavy though

 

are u saying there were ZERO fights for RJJ for 10 years??? ZERO in TEN...not one...for one if u go up to heavy fight the real champ or just stay at ur own weight....he could have fought BHOP, darius, calzaghe...a number of guys...make it happen...ZERO superfights in a ten year span????

 

better resume is PBF...better fighter is PBF at 130...ATG at 130...maybe number one

 

Roy was not the P4P King from 1994 to 2003. If you check The Ring ratings, you can see that he was P4P King between 1996-1997, 1999 and 2003. Pernell Whitaker was the P4P King between 1993-1995, Oscar de la Hoya in 1998, Shane Mosley during 2000-2001, etc.

Mayweather was P4P King between mid 2005 and his retirement in mid 2008.

I would say, though, that Jones was the better P4P King.

 

He never beat Hatton at 140 tho I believe he would have, he did beat the rest & IMO they were probably the best at the time he beat them.

the top fighters in pbf's division...margo, cotto, williams, mosley ( a few years ago) and mayweather fought none of them. enough said. Roy takes this hands down.
