I would disagree however maybe he didn't have to use it quite as much due to his impressive punch power at light heavy. Obviously his dig wasn't quite as effective at heavyweight

Sure he did. He just didn't stay there long enough. The guy beat some pretty good heavyweights.

Sure he did. Holyfield was a great and others like Cooper, Stewart, Botha and Schulz were at the very least, considered good heavyweights.

I wouldn't include Hagler here; he was a 'switch up freak' GREAT!
Saldivar and Marvin J. my home town boy (bigoted :) came to mind.
    And of course Pac!
Interesting that so many southpaws in our great sport elected to switch to rightie in order to utilize that LH.
Sidebar: to my friends on board who know more than me: What converted southpaw had the hardest right hand?

Says the guy that never boxed in his life. You know what, you are right and Manny Steward, Freddie Roach and Teddy atlas are all wrong. Moorer was not skilled at all and they just wasted there time with him. Get out of here troll.

Not to mention he was beating Foreman more convincingly than even Holyfield did up until he got caught in the 10th. He also had a pretty good win over Jirov at the end of his career. Moorer could fight, he just got caught by two of the biggest punchers ( Foreman,Tua) in boxing history.

Morrison out boxed Foreman also and got hit less than Holy did v Foreman, Holy was hugely flawed at that stage of his career compared to later when he beat Bowe in their rematch in a far better performance than his winning effort v Foreman.

Holy was awful against Moorer and had a bad punch output, I think something was wrong with his heart he also beat Moorer in their rematch, Cooper was awful, Stewart got blown away by Tyson in a round while Moorer strugled with him, Bota was nowherre neatr Holy`s level.

I'll throw Jose Luis Ramirez in the mix.

Not as "great" as the guys previously mentioned, but a solid guy with a million fights who fits the bill.

Definitely not the best, but should be mentioned as one of them.

So you boxed a few times as a kid and that makes you an authority on boxing? My beef with you is you said Moorer was not a skilled lightheavyweight. I was an active amateur fighter back in the 90's midwest area and I can tell you that he had a rep for straight up destroying people back in those days. You clearly love the sport of boxing like I do but I will never understand why you feel the need to disrespect fighters on here. Calling a guy like him unskilled is just insane and flat out wrong.

Just stop. Holyfield lost straight up. Not MM's fault Holyfield made himself sick from steroids. Cooper was not awful, he was tough as nails. You are correct about Stewart getting blown out bu Tyson but so did a lot of guys. Does Spinks suck as well because Tyson knocked him out in a round?
