Both Gomez and Sanchez were both great at their best weight, 122 and 126 respectively. It wasn't until Gomez decided to move up to face Sanchez and by then he was already a different fighter.
Who do you think was more 'invincible' at their best weight class: Gomez (122) or Sanchez (126)?

Gomez, because he has less competition at 122 than Sanchez would have at 126.

Sanchez was a bit iffy against those that made him lead. People forget that.

Gomez by hair, though it would have been nice to see both of them unify at their best weights, iN SANchez's case, would have solved a lot.

Gomez was more dominant at SBW than Sanchez at FW, but I feel Sanchez fought better competition.

I would go Gomez by a slim margin

Unlike some others, I feel Sanchez had the higher ability level of the two.

    He also beat better opposition.

However, Gomez never 'slumped' and fought down to the level of his opposition like Sanchez could sometimes do.

Gomez was usually more devestating and dominant and probably had more obvious strengths but Sanchez had an extra something about him that’s hard to measure. Gomez could blast out fighters of most styles though whereas movers, defensive fighters always figured to give Sal issues.

Gomez had lost those great legs of his about halfway through his defenses.

Really amazing and a testament to how good a fighter he really was that he could continue to win sometimes. When those knees go on guys in those lower weight classes, their careers usually go off a cliff. Not Bazooka.

Gomez became a god in Puerto Rico. He was a celebrity as an amateur knocking out the Cuban’s. When he beat Zarate forget about it. I doubt he ever trained that well of focused after that given his love for the party scene and Puerto Rican women.

Gomez - more dominant against easier competition.
Sanchez - less dominant against tougher competition.

I’ll walk this back: although my point has some truth to it, I believe being a top 5 126lber IS more impressive than being the 122lb G.O.A.T.

So I’ll go with Sanchez today

I have to give it to Salvador, a truly terrible loss to the sport...he might have ended up being up there with Duran, Robinson, Ali imo. Unbelievably cool-headed...even that alone was a striking variable in his fights, that he was capable of keeping his cool and looking like the champion even before he made it. I never get tired of watching him take apart opponents.

Tough to say; Gomez was more of a funtastic KO highlight film type that makes for more popular youtube watching, but I think there was more cerebral stuff in play with Sanchez. Gomez moved and punched and mocked and punched and punched and punched, but you were keenly aware that with Sanchez there was more of a boxing mind at work, one who understood the game on a level most didn't.

Gomez had the more obvious natural gifts, but Sanchez applied what he had better than Gomez I think.
