Yes, light-heavyweight. By the end of the decade he held WBC/WBA/IBF belts. However, it is argued by some that he didn't dominate as he did not fight WBO champion Dariusz Michalczewski.

1996-1998 then 1999-end of decade. Became p4p#1 in 1996 (around the time Pernell Whitaker needed an SD to beat Wilfredo Rivera in April), was supplanted by Oscar De La Hoya in 1998, became p4p#1 again in 1999 and stayed there till 2000. All in all, approximately 3 years.

So who for you was the greater recipient of the official Fighter Of The Decade award?

Of course it's Pac. He is the one already being compared SRR and Henry Armstrong with his accomplishments in the decade. Roy is probably the most unbelievable fighter I've seen in his prime, but for all his talent he was always criticised for his resume. Particularly mid-late 90s, which is a big chunk of time to have been seen to have not accomplished much

you've made a mistake on the titles that Jones won. He won the WBA heavyweight title as well.

RJJ got oh so many comparisons to SRR during his pre-Tarver period. Don't you remember?

Only by Max Kellerman's dumbass. Everybody else knew Roy's resume looked like Reggie Strickland's compared to SRR.

In natural talent yes. Infact it was said by many he was the most gifted fighter they ever saw. But this is about resume and accomplishments, and although Roy won titles through 3 divisions in the decade, no-one was ranking him near the top 10 ATGs from what he did in the 90s.

RJJ, because he was the better and more gifted athlete. All of RJJ opponets wer either number # 1 contenders or world champions. RJJ, only loss was by a DQ in a fight he was winning but came back a won via 1st round ko! RJJ, beat number # 1 P4p fighter James Toney and always dominated his comp. Pacman whom is a very good fighter lossed and many believed twice to JMM and he only became P4P number 1 when Mayweather retired.

If you're only talking resume, neither Pacquiao nor Jones are SRR comparable. MANY people compared Roy to Robinson back then. It was commonplace. I don't and didn't but many did. Sorry. It certainly wasn't just Max Kellerman.
