    I think Jeffries was greater, Tyson was better H2H, though I think Jeffries could beat him under the right conditions.

    Jeffries by a slight margin. He beat the best of his generation and had a slightly longer time at the top, unlike Tyson. Tyson and Jeffries are both prime examples of fighters who could've been much greater but threw their physical talents away. Jeffries had only freshly stepped into his prime in '04 the same as Tyson had around '87-'88

    Tyson and it isn't close.

    Jefferies résumé consists of beating an overrated toughman (Tom Sharkey), who's litterally tailor made for him. A past it MW (Fitz), Ruhlin coming off of a loss and a draw as well as a draw with a glass cannon MW (Choynski). He had 4 years as champ. He is basically a cruder, less active, weaker punching but bigger Marciano.

    Tyson on the other hand has wins over a prime Rudduck (twice), Prime Bruno 2*, Berbick, Golata, Tucker, Bonecrusher, Thomas, Williams, Biggs and Tubbs as well as past prime Spinks and Holmes.
    That shits all over Jefferies.

    H2H he is top 5, Jefferies isn't top 20

    Tyson never beat a 50 year old 170lb man for the title. He never fought a 5'8" chubby sailor either. How on earth could he be considered greater than the indomitable Jeffries. You all need to wake up

    Yea I agree. Very strange replies in this thread. Just for good measure I have Tyson at #6 and Jeffries at #17 (I believe) all time at heavy.
