Regarding the 1.3 Million Buys... Floyd think's it was soley down to him (heard him say it before). Every ****er in that arena was against Floyd that night.
Oh, and i bet my house on it that Floyd took a lot of ideas from Naz. Naz took Boxing shows to another level in his day.
i agree with all of that apart from the 'talent' bit. naz was a decent awkward boxer who got out of a lot of **** with his awesome power, the boy could punch harder than anyone,he sickened better boxers than himself with his punch. but boxing wise i liked hatton, his footwork and bodywork was superb, until he got into his 'i can bulldoze anyone'style,AND they possibly fought the same world level boxers as well up until hatton met mayweather and naz met MAB
Hatton was brought over to the States because he'd bring **** loads of people with him. Naz was brought over because there were loads of people that wanted to see him. Ricky was HUGE though. Widdy, was he loved as much as Frank Bruno?
doubt it flea, bruno was loved by nearly everyone from new born babys to ditzy old dears drinking tea. Still all 3 were big draws and great for british boxing, had some superb nights watching all 3
It was just different when boxers were on terrestrial Bruno was a true household name, in the sense that everyone knew him. Honestly... Everyone. And he was universally liked too. Id say naz edges hatton too amongst the general public in terms of recognition. Actually... I don't know. Close. But in terms of getting people to attend a boxing show hatton took some beating. 30,000 people rocked up in Vegas for the floyd fight ive heard. That's ****ing insane.
