Was it George Foreman who was 6'3", 220 lbs when they fought? Not that Ali made his name as a KO artist but would he have been able to score KO/TKOs on modern sized HWs?

He didn't stop him, but he decisioned a guy from Hawaii, Duke Sabedong in 1961. Sabedong was 6'7.

Charlie Powell, who Clay (Ali) stopped in three rounds in 1963 was a former National Football League player and was a very well put together 6"3" and 214 pounds.

Guys like Holmes and Ali would be able to stop their share of these guys by dragging them into deep water then drowning them IMO. The blueprint would be to box and then accelerate later when the situation arose. Both were pretty good punchers without being BIG punchers and pity the guy that tires against them, as we've seen. Also when they did hurt someone they could go hard looking to end things without gassing out like a lot of these big guys and I've seen Wilder, lighter than most of them, gas in the blink of an eye after throwing an attempted finishing barrage.

So that's where they are getting their stoppages from, for mine.

Probably Foreman or Ron Lyle, who were both big, strong men in the same size range but built a bit differently from each other.

And Sonny Liston, of course, was a big, ugly bear.

Given that their chins were generally worse than the most durable people that Ali was stopping, I am absolutely certain of it.

Let's not forget that these behemoths were never able to hand George Foreman a stoppage loss, even when he was in his 40s.

He never fought Tyson, Bowe, or Lewis. Just saying. Old George did not fight three of the four best of that era.

I don't know what's up with Wilder's stamina. He's not carrying any excess weight at all and his physique sure looks like he takes training seriously.

Yes and he was probably very wise not to.

The fact remains that he clearly had a better chin than a lot of the giants of that era.

Look at the list of men that Holyfield stopped for example.

I think some people just don't have that innate gift. Tommy Hearns was skinny, defined and perfectly trained but could tire in the odd fight too.

Ali could stop any heavyweight that can be stopped today.
Timing, speed, accuracy , endurance skills, are just as important when
men are over 200 lbs. as raw power,
Theirs only so much "snap" or concussion the brain can take, when
men are 200 lbs and above it becomes almost irrelevant how
much bigger they are in comparison.
Look at the wild telegraphed right hands of Wilder and how
effective it is against today's "giants". What does Wilder
    weigh around 215?
Yet he's koing and dropping men that out weigh him 50-60
    lbs. in some cases.
Wilder has the ability of a skilled amatuer .
He would've been Jeff Sims in the 70's early 80's
with his skill level. Yet he became the heavyweight
champ of the world against today's competition.
Imagine what a real pro's pro like Ali, Tyson,
and even Louis could accomplish against today's
    "World class heavyweights".........

Sure, some of them. TKO's, definitely. Nobody else ever knocked out Foreman. Nobody.

I suspect Wilder is a high twitch muscle fibre athlete. Built for explosive short bursts, not Stamina.

Usian Bolt is relatively slender for a sprinter. He's clearly an extreme example of a high twitch muscle athlete. I wouldnt be close to being in shot at the finish line if I raced him over 100 metres, but as a non-professional athlete, I wouldnt be surprised if I could take him in a 10k run.
