Incidentally, the real "boogeyman" for Ward is obviously Sergey Kovalev. If there's one guy south of cruiser who should be favored against Ward, it's Kovalev. I personally give Kovalev the edge over Ward at this time. But make no mistake - Kovalev is far more talented and significantly more dangerous than the likes of Golovkin and Bute. Koavelv's leagues ahead of those 2 in terms of being dangerous. :smoke
Yes Rummy I agree.:good Ward should try and put some upperbody muscle on to strengthen him a bit. But you know Rummy all these lack offs point to the shoulder still being a problem. Soft tissue injuries never heal 100%. I bet Ward cant even get a good weight lifting workout pain free. And him not throwing his right hands at a stationery target Barrera. I don't know maybe he just didn't need it against a Frankenstein like Barrera? I don't want to get attacked so easy guys. :tong I just think that it was conspicuous by its absence.:deal
He used the right hand a good deal against Smith, though. But you make a valid point - coming back from serious injuries, you're never really 100% of what you were after that.
I'm just wondering is its affecting him from doing strength and conditioning aka lifting weights. I would like to see him get a little upper body muscle on. He's 6'1 so not sure if he can put more muscle on and still be 175. He doesn't have much fat on him. Ward is a big guy. I'm telling you guys if Ward wanted to start his career at 175 he would of had no problem. Might not be undefeated by he wouldn't get destroyed either.
Yes he did use it a lot on Smith. He was throwing hard one twos. Smith a heavy bag. Maybe Ward hurt the shoulder in that fight?:think Ward is a fairly private man. He likes his privacy. And rightfully so he has a lovely wife and 4 nice kids. Cant be easy being a fighter and a family man. Ward isn't going to make his injuries public. Only when he was suing Goosen were those things spoken about in the public!:yep
