Ali,Hagler,Hearns,Tyson I know the question is "the first" but I grew to love them at the same time,Ali and Tyson because they were the first ones I found out about and Hagler vs Hearns "The War" was the first fight that I ever watched
2004 Amir Khan Olympics Without this I would not be a boxing fan Where the hell is this mans MBE? & where the hell is Fury's?
Tyson Fury. I think I was looking up something about Mike Tyson for no particular reason, got some search results for this other boxer also named Tyson, which seemed odd, watched a Tyson Fury interview, and immediately liked the man and started following boxing. Probably around 2014 because I remember some references to the Chisora rematch.
Muhammad Ali. The first memory I have of seeing him fight was against this Japanese karate bloke - Antonio Inoki in 1976. They called it a draw. The karate bloke spent 15 rounds kicking Ali in the legs & immediately hitting the deck as he did so Ali couldn't belt him back. Went the distance without Ali landing anything of consequence.
I was late to the sport. First fight I watched start to finish was Mayweather V Marquez and I was absolutely mesmerised by Floyd. Anyone who said he was boring was wrong because I was as casual as they come but thought it was one of the most amazing things I'd ever seen. The man was a wizard. After that I became a big fan of Calzhage and David Haye. I thought Dave was good enough to beat Wlad and Vitali to become undisputed. Imagine how pissed off I was watching him flap around the ring like a fish against Klitchko.
