Then again Floyd was not fighting when Leonard/Duran/Hagler were around. So I fail to see your point.

Anyway, I am not asking who as the best of his era but who was the greater fighter in terms of legacy.

hearns fought in a tougher era. take that into consideration. floyd fought in probably the most watered down era of all time

victor ortiz was world champion at one point. doubt he'd even be a contender in the 70s and 80s. i can say the same about pretty much all 22 of those world champions floyd beat besides a few like mosley, dela hoya, pacquiao, and marquez but they weren't even prime when floyd fought them. everyone else ain't sh*t.

and who determines whose prime? Last time I checked pac was still in the top 10 p4p. Last time I checked cotto is the MW champion. Its not up to YOU to determine when someones prime is just because you don't like a fighter.

whose to say ortiz wouldnt be a monster in the 70s and 80s? nobody knows because its all speculation.

I'd say Mayweather edges him. But had they fought at welter Hearns would have beaten him.

    Longevity is pretty straightforward.
You can't be bothered because you have no point to make.

because he's not a beast now.. and never was. there was also less belts meaning the REAL TOP FIGHTERS held world championships and not guys who'd get knocked out once they fight a decent challenger. for example who's the wbc champion at 160? cotto. who's the best fighter at 160? gennady golovkin... i rest my case

There is no question that Hearns fought in a tougher era. There is in my opinion no point in arguing over this.

And floyd is the best at 147 and 154 so I rest my case. He is p4p number 1 unequivocally since beating pacquiao.

Hearns fought a past it duran, and won. Decent win

Leanord knocked him out after leanard lost to actual prime duran and then beat him. Leanord was not prime.

lost to hagler in great historical fight. but lets not forget the facts, Marvin knocked him out cold in 3 rounds.

    Im ready for war baby

Overall careers, wins, fights, competition, significance in the ring (not outside profits, domestic violations, etc),

    Hearns

Hearns by a mile being the best of a weak era doesn't compare considering Hearns had actual rivals and oppoenets !

Where have you been? With the likes of Mosley, Trinidad, DLH, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Marquez, Barrera, Morales, Tzsyu, Hatton Cotto,Corrales, Hopkins, RJJ, Gatti, Ward, Castillo, Gonzalez, Margarito, Bradley, Jhdah, Khan,Canelo. This list can go on. I would say this has been one,of the best Eras in the last 50 or so years.

Hearns would clean out the current WW division.
