Floyd is the better fighter but head to head would lose. It makes it close though that Hearns beat Duran and drew with Leonard. Theres just no name that could compare to that around today.

Hearns win over the reigning ATG LHW Champion Hill, despite being shot to **** 30 pounds North of his prime weight class is an extremely underrated win. That win was icing on the cake for Hearns ATG career.

Terrific win indeed. That victory gives Hearns the edge in terms of resume over Floyd, in my opinion.

Best of the era??? What was Floyd's era? When was his prime? Everybody would agree that it was the 00's.

Well what was his best fights of that era. Two against Castillo and one against Corrales.

Tough gauntlet. I guess that's why he was Fighter of the Decade.

Completely, especially given the fact that Virgil went on to regain and have a second extended championship reign including beating Henry Maske.

Floyd is the better fighter and I love Hearns the Hitman one of my all time favorites. This would be a battle as to who was the best from Michigan. Mayweather stands alone.

I hold severe reservations about both.

Let's stick to the thread. It is about who is the greater fighter not the better fighter.

Also everybody agrees that Hearns would have beaten Floyd. So your point about Floyd being the better fighter is a bit weird.

If Hearns had the same resume today, people would pick it apart like they do everyone today. There's always someone nitpicking and past greats tend to get overrated. People would call his opponents past prime, overweight, a bum, etc etc. The only reason they don't is because they didn't follow boxing back then.

You seem to be looking for excuses.

Let's stick to the facts. It is clear that is possible to pick apart anybody's resume.

However that was not an issue in this thread.Hearns seem to have the slightly better resume objectively.

PBF although Hearns would beat him in a fight. Hearns is a stylistic nightmare for PBF.

Based on what ? Hearns seems to have the slightly better resume and was in greater fights.
