From 1997-2015 that was his era and during that period no one is close to him. #48 has been Koed 3 times during that stretch and schooled by PBF. PBF>#48 just like Fighter of the Era>Fighter of the Decade.:deal

Based on dominance of his era at no point was Hearns considered the best of his era and I'm a big Hearns fan. I rate him high just lower than PBF. Ring Magazine agrees because they rated PBF higher than Hearns in their top 20 fighters since WW2 issue and this was before the #48 fight.

Dominance of an era is not really a criteria is not it ??? Even if so, Floyd fought in a weaker era.Floyd would not ave dominated an era with the Leonard/duran/Hagler/Benitez.

Resume has to be more important than longevity. Also Hearns has also been around for some time,

Yes, and FLoyd didn't even dominate his own era. How can anyone say that he did when he barely fought any legit threats and there was legit threats through his entire career! somehow Floyd "missed' fighting Prime Mosley at LW, Freitas, Kosta Tsyu, Williams, Pac (when he was a wrecking machine) and now GGG.
I will give Floyd credit for fighting and beating a drained Corrales and also Castillo twice, but where in the heck are all the other elite opponents?
Hatton, Guerro, Ortiz, Zab, Berto, shot to **** Mosley, washed up oscar, injured past prime Pac, beat half to death Cotto. Some of these guys are decent fighters, sure, but they were already beaten by other people and/or washed up. That isn't special and it certainly isn't great.

Hearn's freakish right hand goes over Floyd's shoulder roll defense and takes his head off.

Excitement has nothing to do with it. I go with Mayweather now. But I understand picking Hearns too. It's a case of measuring Hearns' better wins and Floyd's never dropping the ball in eighteen years against objectively a fair few comparable to a Barkley.

Hearns to me, was a better class of fighter by a small margin.
Hearns was a greater quality of fighter by a mile. Took on real challenges against guys who were serious threats. Floyd lost that aspect when he ducked guys who had any small advantage over him. Floyd never tried proving anything to himself he didn't already know.

So, when he fought Corrales who was supposedly the biggest Jr LW Puncher in history and when he took on Castillo The Lineal Champ in his 1st fight at LW. That wasn't challenging himself? ODLH at 154lbs? Canelo A young undefeated Lion. These aren't challenges?
