Hopkins was not a good win for RJJ, hopkins went 50/50 with a south american cab driver a few fights later. Sturm was still early in his career and 6 fights later he got knocked out by castillejo. sturm was at best B level at the time and even in his prime Sturm was never an A Level fighter. lemiuex lost to 2 better fighters than anyone sturm had fought

In discussions like this one should be able to add Canelo to GGG'S resume, it is his best win.

 

I am not even a Hopkins fan. We all saw lower case g fight on the retreat after requesting Canelo fight him Mexican style. Such a puto.

 

He was a pretty rugged ko guy early in his reign though, became a little boring in later stages of his reign. There are some fighters that if they could make the 160lb limit for 8 years like Golovkin did, may have been able to possibly defeat Golovkins resume up until Jacobs, not for sure but maybe, but no one would be able to demolish them the way GGG did , he destroyed them in entertaining fashion.

First fight was close and the decision debatable but if we're going to give that win to GGG then Hopkins should be given the same benefit of the doubt and awarded a win over Taylor and also Mercado as the first fight was seen as controversial.

Personally I had the first fight a draw and Canelo winning 8 rds in the rematch and it was against a Canelo who was moving up in weight and wasn't yet at his peak.

 

Head to head I might take GGG, but BHop got more done and worked in a far more competitive environment. BHop ftw.
