that is actively known about the WBO a quick search will easily answer you’re question, before Hopkins undisputed was WBC/WBA/IBF, like when they talk about it only being 6 undisputed champion they really means since the 4-belt era in 2007/8, Zab was undisputed at Welter, Hatton was undisputed at jr welter etc..

Hopkins. The beatdown he put on Trinidad was legendary, and it possibly ruined him. Tito was incredible and looked unstoppable after destroying Joppy.

Why wasn’t the belt legit when Oscar had it? In order for Hopkins to have a legit belt it had have been legit to begin with.

 

okay man just a brief breakdown in boxing history as an organization the WBO began in 1988, at that point in time it was not recognized as a major title,
WBO first got light in 2004 when the WBC started to acknowledge there champions, from there the IBF followed suit a few years later in 2007, the WBO was fully upgraded by all 3 of the OG organizations in early 2008 and at that point in time you needed all 4 belts to become undisputed champ.
Just like how the IBO or IBU isn’t a REAL title the WBO was not recognized fully until early 2008.

 

I don't see how Felix is highly regarded to be honest. His best win is a robbery vs Delahoya, or maybe we count the beatdown he gave a completely shot Pernell? Winky **** him out and he lost to a very shot RJJ. His power did nothing for him moving up and getting schooled by Bhop. He was a good fighter but not some dominant force, especially above WW where he had no impressive wins.

 

Why wasn’t the WBO legit when Oscar was the 160 champ? It doesn’t suddenly become legit just because a certain person wins it. If you say it’s because Hopkins unified it, then it had to be legit before that fight even happened to be considered a unification.

Its closer than people think. An actual look at Hopkins 160 resume shows that those guys just werent that good. He lost to the two best Middleweights he fought.

His biggest wins were not Middleweights. Hopkins preferred his opponents 5'10" and skinny as hell. Sounds super badass if you ask me.
