    Right you are. And it's real possible that I was wrong to believe that Sugar Ray was from Detroit. That ring a bell for anyone?

    Ray Mancini, Harry Arroyo & Kelly Pavlik for Ohio (Youngstown). Washington-Greg Haugen?, If Louis isn't origionally from Detroit. Then How about Floyd Mayweather Jr., From Grand Rapids, MI.

    Earlier it was stated by Jack Dempsey(post #18) that Robinson was from Georgia.

    Has ANY great fighter ever come from Oregon? Right now we have Stevie Forbes, and David Banks, oh ya, and some kid that got his ass beat on ESPN the other night.

    From Washington let's not forget Ray Seales.

    Pazienza in Rhode Island, right. Not a great fighter probably, but what heart and what will! It's hard to believe (I know as soon as say it someone will come up with one) that a state so small could have produced a better one.

    Harold (Chubby) Gomes would be second out of Rhode Island. A former suoer featherweight champ who won a vacant title. but twice was beaten by Flash Elorde.
