If you think he's a better candidate than Paz (see post # 63).

Vermont: Charlie "Buster" Beaupre, Burlington, VT.
    W 42 (20) - L 25 (13) - D 6. Competed from 1932-1948.

Wisconsin: Eddie McGoorty, World Middleweight Champion, 1912. Born in Eureka, WI.

Nevada-Ishe "Sugar Shay" Smith. Las Vegas born and bred. I'd be very surprised if this name sticks, but at least we have a native to this state on the board.

    West Virginia-Hilton J. "Fitzie" Fitzpatrick. Born in Oak Hill, WV. W 47 (31) - L 20 - D 3.

Danny Lopez was born in Ft. Duchesne, Utah, if anybody is looking for an alternative to Gene Fullmer.

I'm loath to name an amateur, but Wyoming's history of native boxers appears to be extremely barren. As a collegiate boxer for legendary coach John Walsh's Wisconsin Badgers, Cody, Wyoming's Robert Ranck went 22-1, and became Wyoming's first national champion in any individual sport. In the 1952 Olympic Trials, he lost a controverial split decision to Ed Sanders. Had the scoring gone in his favor, he almost certainly would have likewise won the Gold Medal in Helsinki.

Anybody at ESB who wants to agitate for gender equity might argue for Christy Martin as West Virginia's representative. I'm trying to stay with male professionals, but when the pickings get really slim......

I didn't see that post. I didn't remember that Paz came from Rhode Island.

Sean O'Grady definatly had a more accomplished career than Tommy Morrison. For Oklahoma.

That's okay, OF. I didn't see posts # 42 and 43, where JAB5239 and Chinxkid respectively named Paz simultaneously. (Normally, I read through an entire thread much more carefully than that before adding a post to it.)

Seamus nailed it for Alaska on post #47. Cody Koch was born in Anchorage.
The Alaskan Assassin went 25 (21) - 2 - 0. (According to what some amateur records indicate, Michael Arms came from Milwaukee.)

If not Virgil Hill for N.D. due to birthplace I thought of Billy Petrolle the Fargo Express until I realized he too was born elsewhere, Pa. to be exact so I don't know who else from N.D. If we count D.C. then put in Holly Mims. From Wisconsin I thought of Phil Zwick but somone else mentioned Eddie McGoorty which is a better choice, as is Tony Zale for Indiana rather than Marvin Johnson.
