Pure raw power with one punch right hand? Baer, Shavers, Foreman ,Lyle,
    Lewis, W.Kliechkoes, Tyson, Louis.
Left hook? Tua, Morrison, Liston, Foreman , Cooney, Weaver, Tyson,
    Louis.
    Uppercuts? Foreman, Louis, Liston,Tyson, Lewis.
Jab? Liston, Holmes, P. Thomas, Foreman , Louis .
Overall: Joe Louis as far as power, speed,
    technique, accuracy , intuiative combination
    punching and timing.
M.Tyson 2nd best, with his predicable combo
punching the key difference between he and Louis.
Louis overall the greatest puncher in history in
    my opnion.

louis was an exceptional fighter, within that his best weapon was the right that finished many guys. wilder is an above average fighter who put prob the top h2h ever on his as many times. i'm not gonna say he is the greatest fighter ever because he clearly isn't, but the greatest puncher ever? wilder.

tyson fury is 6'7 and a very good boxer. nah louis didn't fight better.

    ortiz beats everyone louis beat.

no disrespect to joe louis. he beat everyone that was available, he was a better all around fighter than wilder. i might even pick him to beat fury 1 of 3, which wilder couldn't do.

Best combination punchers = Joe Louis, Mike Tyson.

Best single punchers = Earnie Shavers, Deontay Wilder.

Most effortless power without trying = George Foreman.

This would be very impressive if Wilder had actually beaten him.
I woudl strongly beg to differ.
No disrespect to Wilder, but Louis beat 31 men ranked in the top ten, while Wilder beat a grand total of 3.

but the thread isn't best boxer, it's best puncher.

wilder knocked guys dead with punches a smarter fighter would never have even thrown.

for the most part i understand posts i don't agree with. i have no idea how you could think this stuff.

Most powerful overall Foreman. For single shots, Shavers (with Wilder a not-too-far second place).

For combinations, Joe Louis (Iron Mike as a strong runner-up).

I can't agree with the second part, Ortiz beat one good fighter his whole career. He never good repeat the Jennings fight once they took his PEDs away.

This punch from Foreman is stronger than any punch he hit Frazier. The only thing I'm not sure if he hit Jose Roman, but I think he at least touched him, because the head moved :)

That was my same reason for picking him. He might not have been the “ hardest “ puncher of all time but he had a compete array of attributes which made for a great puncher

My gut is telling me that Wilder is one of the hardest punchers I have seen on film, if not the hardest.

I am none the less mindful that he has a padded resume, and that a fighters KO% falls off very quickly, when they start fighting the best of their division.

I'll say it like this, if someone walked up to me and said "show me how to punch", I would put on Joe Louis before anyone else on the list.

I am on Foreman by mistaken click, and I do not seem to be able to fix it. However, I meant to pick Joe Louis. I do think George actually hit harder, but Joe was a more effective puncher, therefore the greater puncher.
