When they were at their pinnacle - at their very "prime" - based on their career best performance -

Who was the greatest fighter out of the heavyweight Fab Four ?

    Mike Tyson

    Evander Holyfield

    Riddick Bowe

    Lennox Lewis

I would have to say Lewis... with Holy a close 2nd.

Tyson was already past his prime in the 90's, and Bowe did too little in his and made the biggest duck in history of the HW division.

I said 90's because they were all active in this period.

But its ok - to go back to the late 80's for Tysons prime.

I picked Tyson - because in the lates 1980's he was a total monster in his prime - and smashing through everyone.

This is in a h2h sense

    80's Tyson
    Lewis
    Bowe
    Holyfield

Bowe beat Holy in his prime and arguably three times overall.

    90s? I'd say Lewis.

Tyson was still very dangerous and had a great punch, but the boxing skills and mental disclipline of the 80s were long gone.

Holyfield was a true warrior who put on amazing fights, but was always one fight away from losing the title. He also couldn't really deal with Bowe or Lewis.

Bowe had awesome potential and could have been the best of the three, but like Tyson lacked discipline.

Lewis was the most consistent despite the McCall setback.

I think Holy was the most complete of the 4. Post Bowe and Pre Lewis Holy was on a rampage. That version of Holy IMO was the most awesome HW I had ever seen. Box like Ali, the heart of Frazier, and the power of Liston. That version of Holyfield would of beaten Lewis, Bowe, and certainly beat Tyson. Now, if your talking about Tyson trained and under the supervision of D'Amato 80's Tyson that version of Tyson was the best and had so much untapped potential it wasn't even funny. There was a short period where Bowe at his peak, particularly during the Holyfield wars, he would of gotten his revenge on Lewis had they fought and would of owned 90's Tyson as well.

Do you mean who was the best at his best? Because greatness is something completly different.

If you did ask what I think you asked:
    Lewis
    Holyfield
    Bowe
    Tyson

However as we all know Tua and Ibeabuchi were much better than them when they met.
